Privacy Policy

Certified Financial Planner™ professionals, or CFP® professionals, like all providers of personal financial services, are now required by law to inform their clients of their policies regarding privacy of client information.  CFP® professionals have been and continue to be bound by professional standards of confidentiality that are even more stringent than those required by law.  Therefore, we have always protected your right to privacy.

Types of Nonpublic Personal Information We Collect

We collect nonpublic personal information about you that is provided to us by you or obtained by us with your authorization.

In addition, by visiting our website, our servers may automatically recognize a visitor’s domain name and IP address (the number assigned to computers on the Internet). No personal information about you is revealed in this process. Our website may also gather anonymous “traffic data” that does not personally identify you, but that may be helpful for marketing purposes or for improving the services we offer.

From time to time, we may use the standard “cookies” feature of major browser applications that allows us to store a small piece of data on your computer about your visit to our website. We do not set any personally identifiable information in cookies, nor do we employ any data capture mechanisms on our website other than cookies. Cookies help us learn which areas of our site are useful and which areas need improvement. You can choose whether to accept cookies by changing the settings on your browser. However, if you choose to disable this function, your experience at our website may be diminished and some features may not work as they were intended.

Parties to Whom We Disclose Information

For current and former clients, we do not disclose any nonpublic personal information obtained in the course of our practice except as required or permitted by law or through your specific authorization.   Permitted disclosures include, for instance, providing information to our employees, and in limited situations, to unrelated third parties who need to know that information to assist us in providing services to you.  Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, and subject to applicable law, we may share client information, or information about a client, with one or more of our service providers as may be necessary in connection with our providing services to you.  In all such situations, we stress the confidential nature of information being shared.

Protecting the Confidentiality and Security of Current and Former Clients’ Information

We retain records relating to professional services that we provide so that we are better able to assist you with your professional needs and, in some cases, to comply with professional guidelines or regulatory requirements.  In order to guard your nonpublic personal information, we maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with our professional standards.  First, technical procedures are used in order to limit the accessibility and exposure of client information contained in electronic form. Second, administrative procedures are used in order to control the number and type of employees, affiliated and nonaffiliated persons, to whom customer information is accessible. Third, physical safeguards have been established to prevent access to client information contained in hard-copy form. As illustrated above, we realize the importance of information confidentiality and security, and emphasize practices which are aimed at achieving those goals.
